I agree, size 2 needles are way too big for this yarn, IMHO. I have a ball of Tofutsies that, just for fun, I started a sock on size 000 needles...firm fabric, 11-12 spi, and incredible SLOW to knit. : ) I'll probably frog that start and go with 0's if I want socks before next year.
