A grand day
Filed under my life by sherriknits at 7:20 pm on Oct 11 2007
I won’t mention the fact that I had to stay up until 2:45 a.m. doing bookwork. Not helpful that we have had countless weird things happen that have made my life very difficult in this area.
My two girls and I took off today to do some wedding dress shopping. Can’t show any pictures of what we think is *the perfect dress* but I will show you how cute my girl was.

And this is the aisle that I started crying in after she went in to try on the first dress. Big sis was pretty sweet about it (no, i didn’t start blubbering but this one is a hard one because she’s lots younger.)

The dress is no where in sight of this picture.
I wanted to show you the coolest fog we saw the other day…and then again today,

Those two little things poking up there are cooling towers. It was hard getting a picture in the car but I thought it was fun.
And then the rare-these-days shots of the boy. He had a well-child check-up the other day and it was quite successful. We’ll just leave it at that has not always been the case. I didn’t know if the doctor would want her picture there so I left her out.

And in knitting news…I did not touch the boot toppers yesterday or today because of aforementioned bookwork. They are so close to done, though…probably an hours worth of work at the very most which includes weaving in a zillion ends.

I will make matching ones for each topper soon, but I’m still tempted to felt these.
And today as we drove, I got to ride in the back seat and the only mindless knitting I had with me was this new scarf I am working on…and I, who as a rule kind of hate scarves, think I will actually wear this one! I’ll get the name of the yarn and the pattern name when I am not so lazy.

This is a really fast knit and it’s really soft and pretty!

Wow! How exciting that you may have found the dress already!
) I hope I live long enough to do the same thing with my girls…hopefully they won’t wait as long as I did to marry. LOL I can’t wait to see the dress. I know I have to. How wonderful that the Lord has given you such a relationship with your daughters that you can share special times like these.
Guess what? I got the new Cat sock book! I haven’t had much time to read it yet. I ordered some alpha stitch markers from a friend of mine. I didn’t know if you really need those or ? I ordered them because I didn’t want to get into it and then not have them. It all looks a little bit crazy while reading, but I have several friends expecting babies so I guess I will practice with the baby socks.

Love the pic of the fog!
It sounds like you had fun shopping for a dress! Also nice to hear that the “perfect” dress may have been found already!

What a very beautiful pic you did of the fog! I couldn’t see the last one, the one of the scarf, unfortunately, but I’m sure this is going to be a really beautiful knit once more! And how exciting that you may have found the dress already!!!

Good for you finding a dress so quickly.
I couldn’t see the last pic either.
Thanks for visiting my blog I had a hard time redirecting to here, but I found you.

Wedding dress shopping…what a great memory you and your daughters will have. A truly special time!

I’m glad you found a dress so quickly! At some point, maybe when it’s further along, I’ll have to post about my dress. We’re taking my grandmother’s dress, also worn by my mom and both aunts, and remaking it into something more modern (no butt bow). Until it’s made, though, I won’t get to try it on at all! My “fitting” the other day was just the lining for the bodice, not very exciting at all.
