Sunday, day of rest

I should be taking a nap, told hubby I was going to…and I plan to.
Sleep has been a little better but last night I woke up to a “pop! pop! pop! …. pop!” We don’t know what it was but it sounded like gunfire or backfire but we heard no car. Hubby wondered if it was some kind of fireworks but didn’t see anything out the window. All I know is that my heart about pounded out of my chest when I woke up. The neighborhood stayed peaceful and only the bride and I seemed bothered by it. Thankfully, I fell back to sleep.
I forgot that today was our turn to do the bulletins at church and it was only the little imp and I since the *whole* family other than us was up on the worship team. He did the best he has ever done. In his desire for independence, he stood way out away from me and people just naturally went straight to him. I was treated to many smiles and giggles as people walked by me with their bulletins. Sometimes he just can’t get those things handed out quick enough and people tend to not see him. I was blessed. He went to the cupboard by himself and got an usher tag and I guess he was ‘on duty’. They let him pass out the candy to new visitors on the week we do bulletins so he was Mr. Big today.
I’ve been working on the shrug…in no time at all, I have this.
I only stopped so I could try it on her to see if it was the right width. (skinny little girl that she is) I think it’s going to be really cute.
Mary asked me if we had lilacs in bloom so I thought I’d show her the bush. It’s in the neighbor’s yard and I don’t know what it is, but it looks just like this most of the year.
and a close up
That looks like bleeding hearts, doesn’t it.
Anyway…I am going to go try to take a nap. The kids got their apartment this weekend and the groom is staying there now. I am not sure if we’ll be called in to help them move some of his things in. It’s close to here and I thought of him last night when I heard the popping. Gosh, kids all over town any more.
