it’s all about the journey…

I spent most of my workday trying to get a bank statement to balance.  I do not get how you can click on each entry and still come out wrong…twice.  My computer went into super slow mode, it took about 5 minutes to load the reconciliation after I closed it so I could come back in and make sure I got the ending balance and service charges in correctly.  Ugh.  Tomorrow I will uncheck it all and go at it again.  ugh.

I had an appointment this morning that was 20 minutes late so look what I did.

The beginnings of a hoodie for Sweet Pea.  I found an adorable pattern.  I forget the name of it but will show you soon.  Isn’t it cool that it’s possible to relax when people are running late if you have something to do?  I thought the Yarn Harlot put it great in her new book, Things I Have Learned from Knitting….she said knitting alters the sensation of time when you knit while waiting for an appointment. But if your knitting is taken away, you go “raving out of your tree”.  True?

I have 4 rows to go before I start stockinette and then 4 rows to begin the pattern on the front.  The pattern calls for knitting the front and back separately but I am going to take the lead of many of my friends and knit it in the round instead.

As promised, I took pictures of my new Kureyon Sock yarn.

I have to say that I have enjoyed the gift of friendship from my friend and really am grateful for the yarn.

She didn’t need to, but she replaced the yarn I got on our week off after the wedding…the one I just couldn’t make work, so I gave it to her.  I will probably make the same pattern I started with the other yarn.  Go see what The Dip Lady is doing with the yarn I gave her.  She found a great pattern for it and it shows the colors well.

I got a gift card from #1 son for Mother’s Day and I got to spend it today!

A Whirly-Pop!  We borrowed one for making plain popcorn for the wedding and we all loved it.  I had to wait until they got more in, but it was worth the wait.  I even love the box it came in.  (I always drive hubby nuts saving boxes, but I’ll part with it)

We won’t get to try it out tonight.   It was just hubby and I home tonight, the little imp went with mama-to-be to Word Alive at church tonight.  We ate kind of a late dinner and hubby was really tired so I told him to go to bed early.  Sometimes that’s just fun…he’s probably watching tv before he falls asleep.  I’m just enjoying some alone time myself.

I’m hoping tomorrow night we can give the Whirly-Pop a whirl!
