my curling iron is not my friend
Filed under my life by sherriknits at 2:09 pm on Jan 26 2009
I have been silent for a reason. On Saturday, my curling iron flipped out of my hand and in catching it, I poked my eye and burned my cornea. I’ve been to the eye doctor 3 times since Saturday! Today he said he finally feels hope that it will heal without any more intervention but he is not totally sure. Saturday the blisters were too big to see what the real damage was. Yesterday he could see the site and today he said there is remarkable improvement. So scary.
Yesterday, though, I did have a highlight. The little family returned home and I was able to hold my little missy. She is a big girl from when she left 2 weeks ago. Look at her!
Excuse the weird spot on the back of her head, I “enhanced” the dark picture and this is what I got. I felt half blind when I took it that’s all I got. She still topples over, but she can sit for a few seconds at a time.
She remembered her grammy!
Here she was showing off for me…rolling this way and that and talking to me. It was such a highlight to my boring day.
And before all this, I was knitting…
That’s take 2. I didn’t like the first pattern I was using and I am almost back to where I had been.
The end.

Oh! Ouch! It hurts just to read about that! I think you need some sort of award for suffering to be beautiful!
I once wacked myself with a blow dryer and gave myself a black eye, but that was FUNNY…what happened to you wasn’t…
I’m glad healing is happening. Putting your poor ol’ eye on my prayer list!

Oh,you poor thing. I can’t imagine burning my eyeball!!!! The little one is so very sweet. Although we are certainly of grandparent age, we don’t have any grandkids–oldest died at age 40, next at age 42 doesn’t plan any childen, next at age 32 isn’t attached and shouldn’t have children!, and the youngest at age 17 is way to young to have children! You are blessed with childrend and grandchildren who love to visit you!1

Oh my goodness….I pray for you….that all will be fine!!!! What a freak thing.
Mayah looks darling as usual!!!!! Your knitting looks sooooo good. I am ALMOST done with the scarf I am doing so I can start another project. It takes me so long to get anything done working pretty much 40-hour weeks.
Plus, Mariah and I are doing scrapbooking. I am putting together Dan and my life together from dating on. It is really addicting…the papers and the stickers…really fun to do together. She is very talented at it.
God Bless…..have a super-de-duper day!!!!!!! Love in Christ, Renae

OMG!!! You gotta watch out for those freak accidents. So scary. It sounds like things on on the way up, docs don’t usually give false hope. In fact just the opposite.
take care
