it’s all about the journey…

let the storms begin

Storm season has begun. Last night we were told we’re going to have a series of storms….I decided to charge up everything, my camera, macbook, phones. Kenny went to the store and if you can believe it, Walmart was out of batteries! He did manage to find them at RiteAid. He stocked up and we’re ready…he checked the generator, it works. I did laundry and made sure I ran the dishwasher.

The storm didn’t seem to hit until late into the night even though my friend a the beach said they had it all day. That’s about 23 miles from here. I got up at 5 because I couldn’t stand the wind hitting the window. I used to enjoy it until the Dec. 07 storm when we had sustained hurricane force winds for 36 hours.

Here’s the good one, I can’t figure out where I put my camera after I took the battery out to charge it! I tried and tried to get video this morning instead but every time I’ve gone out (in bare feet and sweats!) the wind has died down a little. Right now, our rocking chair on the porch keeps looking like it is going to flip over onto it’s back but I have no proof of it.

Here’s what I did manage to get, which is nothing.

Tonight we are supposed to get up to 85 mph winds and lots and lots and lots of rain.

It’s only 9 am and I’m ready for a nap!

    Batten down the hatches, mama…it’s time for a big one!

    Wow, every storm brings visions of scenes from the Wizard of Oz to mind.

    Stay safe,
    Jan

    Sounds like good knitting time to me. Stay safe and at home if you can. BTW is the house across the street for sale? In my dreams…

    Wow…that’s some wind. By the way is that house for sale across the street from you…is that a for sale sign in the front yard??? If, it is I could just see my family living there, and Tyler and Jonathan being friends :)

    Hope you day is going well!
