Almost the end of a mixed-up week…I’m ready.
I have an FO! I love it, too! I am not thrilled that it is looser than I like, but really…as a friend said: “it’s a hat”. Its a good idea to get perspective sometimes.
Can you see the little spray of white tassel on the top? I will take another picture later, but how cute is this? We visited our favorite little spot tonight so hubby helped me get a picture but we couldn’t get rid of the shadow because it was hard to get it to hang off the fence. I think he wasn’t too thrilled taking pictures of knitting but he’s a good sport.
I made good progress on the pink hat. It’s going to be really cute, I think. Soft, fuzzy pink…old-fashioned, I love it.
We got a call from the newlyweds that they were at the bookstore and we were just heading there. It was fun meeting up with them but the only table was under the domed ceiling so we could barely hear each other but I bet others heard every word we said. I hate that part.
When we got to the car, look what I found!
My beautiful white baby yarn! And even worse than that….the car door was unlocked and my keys, camera, and cell phone were sitting in plain sight on the seat. I sometimes get in trouble for asking if the door got locked but maybe I need to do it anyway. haha All was well so no problem. I need to get some of those things back into my purse anyway so I accept responsibility there.
Ok, headed to Ravelry to see if anyone is playing there.

I didn’t knit all weekend or on my day off yesterday, but today I got a chance to work on the Francie sock again.
I would be farther along but I forgot my pattern at home today. I’m a little farther than this now, the ribbing along the gusset is showing. Usually I would have all the heel stitches on one needle and instep on the other, but this time it just wasn’t working. I had quite the mess getting the needles shifted, it’s always nice to get a little entertainment value out of my knitting! As the ribbing grows, though, it is looking interesting. This is the part I have been waiting for. The decreases are not done along the gusset but on the bottom of the foot (a la Cat Bordhi?) Loving this sock!
This morning, #1 son and I were watching Leave it to Beaver (our new fun morning activity together) and we heard the microwave door slam shut. We looked at each other and jumped up to see what was going on. The imp was making himself nachos. He grated the cheese “just like mom” and got the chips on the plate and did a great job of evenly spreading the cheese. The smile was priceless. I had made him some yesterday for a little surprise and I guess it was a hit with him. Ahhh, getting more and more independent every day. This is good.
The mama-to-be had an interesting time with her best friend’s 4 year old daughter. “How is that baby coming out?” “Yes, but *how*” Then as she drank water….”Is the baby getting rained on?” We have laughed and laughed. Then she started asking where will the birthday be? At church? At Chuckee Cheese? This is one smart and persistent little girl.
Back to the knitting before bed.
