it’s just not going to happen….

Posted by sherriknits

I’m glad I found something to kniit on during vacation, but try as I may, I just cannot like the colors.  I liked them in the skein, but I do not want to wear a rainbow on my back.

0504-1

After I snapped this picture, I tore out all of the orange and partway into the yellow.  I’m just not sure.  I think it’s just going to have to sit for awhile while I ponder this.  I managed to get it all back on the needles just fine and it is going to stay there safely hidden in the dark  (lol, those who know me know how many of those I have…..)

The pattern…I love.  I plan to make this for sure.

We are now home, boo hoo.  I don’t know what there is about me, but I could have just kept on staying in that RV doing nothing.  I don’t start feeling like I need to get home, I don’t get sick of being away.  I wonder what it would be like to stay until I was actually ready to come back.  I’m not sure my friendly helper in my shop would have loved that, though.

Today was my first day back in the shop and I absolutely accomplished nothing but that’s ok.  My co-worker thought I wasn’t due back for another week, I offered to oblige but she said no.

(in order to not confuse anyone….my extended family has a business and my shop is located in the back of the building.  My real job is doing bookkeeping for the family business and prior to having my shop, I worked at home.  So, I have company during the day and they like to come back to my little haven all the time, less stressful.)

We came home on Sunday night.  If you can believe this, there was a big parade in Long Beach (where we went) on Sunday.  The campground filled up with Shriners on the weekend because they were in the parade, too.

This is the first parade the little imp ever came home with much of anything.  None of my kids were ones to fight for the candy that got thrown.  We were in the first block of the parade and I couldn’t even count the times someone came over to him to hand him candy…or they’d throw a handful to the little girls sitting near us, then when they’d see him sitting on my lap under the blanket, they’d throw him his own.

0504-5

Not one picture I took during the parade could I see…it was sooooo cold and windy and the sun was bright so I just snapped.  He’s sitting on my lap when I took this picture.  He kept me warm!

0504-4

Oh, hey….I got candy.

0504-3

And my cell phone fell out of my pocket and I had to chase it to get ahold of it!

They let us move out of our space after the parade so we walked 2 blocks back to the park and moved right out.  We’d gotten all the securing of everything done before we walked over to the parade.  We pulled out onto the street to hook the jeep up.

0504-2

Oops.  The little imp had opened the bedroom windows and after I helped get the jeep lined up for hubby to attach, I went inside to find the holly tree trying to overtake the bedroom.  I had quite the time getting it out of there without harming it.

I forgot to show this the other day.

42008-3

This is the skylight at the Hotel Elliott roof garden.  It was so pretty and we were surprised when we leaned over to see what was inside.  I’d like to go stay there and hang out on that roof for awhile!

We just got home from a potluck/meeting and I’s a tired girl.  I made that fun spinach~strawberry salad.  The whole dinner was just great.

Before I head to bed, I am going to do what a friend challenged me to do and start a list of 100 things about me.  I told her I didn’t think I could think of that many things, but I’m thinking I can and should.  Hmmm, that oughta keep me busy for awhile!

May Day

Posted by sherriknits

When my older kids were growing up, they would always take their May Day flowers to the neighbors, but rarely did they ever appear on my doorstep. I think they never thought of it as much as running around the neighborhood.  Well, yesterday Daddy and Little Imp left for a few hours.  I was really tired because I’d woken up really early so they thought a nap would be nice for me.  I did nap, and I read, knit, played on Ravelry and just relaxed.  I was lying on the couch when there was a knock on the door, I opened it to find some beautiful flowers laying on the steps and saw two sweet heads poking around the corner of the RV.  I was very blessed and really got a kick out of the thrill it gave them to surprise me.

51081

We do wash that face once in awhile but you’d never know it by the pictures.

Today was the day I decided I’d get my elephant ear.  I’ve been thinking about it all week, I love the ones with cinnamon and sugar.

52082

We sat in the window and watched people walk by.  The little imp had an ice cream cone, Dad had a corn dog and I enjoyed my elephant ear.  We walked into a few shops, but mostly we wanted to go for the treats.  I’ll take pictures in the daylight tomorrow of the little things I bought for baby.

I have actually been knitting but I just couldn’t make progress on the baby knitting I brought.  The peapod sweater is not hard but I’m making silly mistakes on it, it requires concentration I can’t give it in this tired stupor.  The baby surprise jacket is stalled because I’m considering how I want it to stripe (and I am mulling it in my mind most of the time).

On my travels through Ravelry, I did find something fun, though.  I’ll give details on it later, but here’s progress.

52081

The colors look washed out here.  As I knit, I am constantly considering whether or not to clip out the orange and yellow.  It would go from purple to dark green to rust if I did.  Since the rows are getting longer, those sections might not be too wide, though.  I’ll probably put in a lifeline and experiment a little.  The pattern is easy, I can’t show it any better right now because it’s on a 24″ needle and scrunched up.  Aren’t my felted sheep stitch markers cute?

I have no way to print out the pattern so I’m knitting in front of my laptop screen.  This afternoon I tried to sit outside awhile.  I wrote out the directions but forgot the middle sections and decided it was too much work to add them.  Hubby was amazed that I could turn the chart into gibberish and understand what it meant.  lol

Yesterday we got the first previews of the wedding pictures, about 65 of the 600+.  Here are 2 of my favorites.

And this one captured the thing I love that she does.  When she gets really tickled at something, she does this silent laugh and her eyes disappear.

I am more than a little impressed with the pictures.

We ran out of propane last night.  Why is it that it always happens that things like that happen right after the store closes?  We were trying to get the stove to start and it just wouldn’t so we had to change dinner plans.  After we ate, hubby started playing with it while I was washing dishes and I commented that I couldn’t get hot water.  It wasn’t long before he discovered the tank was empty.  The park owners told us there was a place down the road besides the one 2 blocks away that sells propane.  The thought of a cold night made it easy to decide to secure everything and head off to find help.  Well, we found it alright…but they were closed, too.  So, we came back and settled in to a night without heat.  It actually wasn’t bad at all.  We just put on sweats.  It didn’t get too cold in here at all, even by morning.

I barely slept last night (again) because I was a little out of sorts so I got up for a few hours and had to sit quietly at the table with my laptop as the little imp was sleeping on the couch nearby.  I got to bed around 3 so they let me sleep in.  We all slept late, but I was the last one to wake up…at 10!  As soon as I was upright, we pulled up stakes again and drove the 2 blocks to the RV shop and got filled up.  We were back in 15 minutes and got all situated before the park started filling up all around us.  Hubby was happy that we got a little more space between us and the 5th wheel next door.  Since the little guy can’t have free reign all around us any more, it’s nice to give him more space outside our door.

Note to self:  do not walk into a darkened movie theater on a bright afternoon wearing transition lenses.

We decided to go to the movie this afternoon.  When we decided to hit the matinee, we had to leave immediately.  When we got there, the movie had just started.  I led the way in and let me tell you, it was dark…seriously d.a.r.k!  I couldn’t see a thing other than the red lights lining the stairs  Hubby said he was going to suggest we stand right in the entry until our eyes adjusted but I must have barreled ahead.  I kept asking him where to sit but he was trying to get the silly boy in and carry popcorn at the same time.  I embarrassed myself a great deal by choosing a row and taking ahold of a lady’s shoulder when trying to take her seat.  I honestly couldn’t see a thing.  It wasn’t until I sat down that I realized my glasses had turned dark.  When I took them off and could see how easy it was to see I was really embarrassed.  Thankfully the movie had started and I’m sure no one was paying attention other than the lady I nearly sat on.  lol  I waited until she left before I got up.  I’m not going to say what we went to see, it was very disappointing and we’re sad we took the boy to it.  I read the review on IMDB and it didn’t indicate much of what we saw.  I think the boy was totally bored and paid more attention to his food.

Tomorrow the mama-to-be and hubby will pay us a visit!

it’s like we decided to leave and then left

Posted by sherriknits

Haha.  We just can’t believe the things we did not bring with us.  However, does it matter?  No.

We made a trip into Astoria-Cannon Beach yesterday because we didn’t have any bath soap, shampoo and barely any toothpaste.  The things I forgot for myself…my mousse, my toner, big deal.  I can live without it, but it does strike me funny.  We also left coats for the little imp and I home.  Well, this was supposed to be a time away for relaxation so it is just fine.  Hubby laughed over the fact that we “just left”.

Before we left, hubby had gone to wash the Jeep and the little imp was outside acting out some scene in his mind….either he was Troy Bolton or Spiderman…when there was a knock on the door.  It was the park manager asking if she could give him some fingerpaints.  She’d been watching him and since her granddaughter didn’t show up for a visit, she wanted to share with him.

When I was setting him up at the table, I knocked my water bottle over and it poured into his lap.  I got such a kick out of him jumping up and running in to get new jeans and to hang up his wet ones…and especially speaking in full sentences telling me about it.  Anyone who has a child with sensory issues will understand… he was a little reluctant to get his fingers in the paint, although he has done it before, but he decided to give it a try.  Pretty big considering he had to deal with water on him, too!

43008-9

These people that run this park are so nice.

When we went into Astoria, I visited the yarn store there.  It’s a combination quilt/yarn store,  Friendly people!  Before I got to the back of the store where the yarn is, I had 3 different people greet me and ask if I wanted help.  One of the ladies walked around with me and showed me all kinds of things.  It wasn’t pushy, she just loves her stuff and I enjoyed visiting with her.  She asked me if I brought my knitting, she wanted me to come back and have birthday cake for one of the customers (although she had to run back and ice it first) and knit with the ladies.  The little imp and hubby had gone to the music store across the street so I couldn’t really stay, but I was impressed with how welcome I felt.  One of the customers standing by the counter invited me to come sit down with them also.  I’ll definitely stop back in.

When I left there, I walked down the street to see my two fellows come out of the store, wait for the light so I headed down to the corner to discover they were no longer there.  I saw them heading down the street so I walked across the street parallel to them  the entire block trying to get their attention, calling hubby on his cell phone (why would he turn it off?) and couldn’t call the imp because his phone was in the car. This is a common scenario  in our family.

He was turning his phone on when he saw me…we decided since we were right there, we’d go see the Hotel Elliott which has recently been restored.  The people were so kind, told us to go upstairs and see the roof garden.

43008-5

This is looking out towards the Columbia River.  Looking the other direction (of course I didn’t think to take a picture), there was a cruise ship and the town was full of tourists and trolleys.  What fun.  We’ve been there when huge military ships and sailors have been crawling the streets, too.  Astoria is a fun little community.

43008-643008-7

If you look really hard, the Astoria Column is far off on the hill behind hubby.  He  took pictures of the little imp and I sitting on the adirondack chairs facing where he is sitting, but evidently didn’t actually click so too bad..no pictures of us.

It’s cool because there are little fire pits around the chairs so even if it’s cold, you can sit and enjoy.

See the little building behind where they stand?  Look what’s inside.

43008-3

I pressed my camera against the window and this is the best I could get.  It’s a teeny bedroom…there are steep stairs beyond the little rail there.  How cute!

The little boy used to be terrified of elevators, but no more,

43008-2

43008-1

I wish I could have gotten a full length picture of him on the way up, he was leaning on the handrail with both elbows and crossed his feet, trying to look like his hero, Dad.

We drove down to Cannon Beach so I could stop in at Coastal Yarns.  My friend owns it but is there only on weekends. I bought some yarn and may show you later, am playing with it right now.  We went to the pizza parlor and ate pizza-by-the-slice.  The little imp was trying to get water and when the fountain didn’t stop and cold liquid ran down his arm, dousing him, the look on his face was beyond priceless….huge, huge eyes!  We laughed and laughed.  Then we discovered it was lemonade coming out of the water spigot…they weren’t a bit surprised when we told them.  He was pretty amused at his experiences getting wet, twice in one day.

We got some movies to watch, so after American Idol, hubby and I watched one of them.  The boy was busy.

5108-1

Several windowsills doubled as parking lots.

5108-2

And then, day was done.

day of rest

Posted by sherriknits

When I got up this morning, (after a nearly sleepless night…pouring rain on the rv and who knows what else kept me awake…I do remember seeing 4 am.  The part that didn’t stress me is that I knew I didn’t have to get up.  I woke up around 10)  I found this silly boy,

429-5

Did you get into the Oreos?  Yes.  Hurray!  He was honest about it.  The other amazing thing is that he only had 1 or 2.  Funny,

Today was exactly what I needed.  I did nothing…and I loved it.  Here’s what I had within reach….

429-4

I worked a little bit on my Baby Surprise Jacket….this time using the book with the drawing of how it works.  I am still kind of stuck on trying to figure out how to stripe it, though.  I will probably surf around Ravelry tonight (again) to get some ideas.

I’m enjoying the Jan Karon book, too.  I have so loved the Mitford series and re-read them now and then.  This one is going back into Father Tim’s childhood as he visits Holly Springs.

I also watched mindless tv today.. I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver… not much else on daytime tv.

The boys went to the store and brought me a little present,

429-2

Delivered with a priceless smile.

During one of the breaks between rain showers, we barbecued steak.  All I did was help carry the picnic table to the least windy location but when I was hearing some singing, I peeked around the other end of the RV to see the little imp in his own world.

429-3

He wouldn’t let me get close enough to take a picture of the 2nd big dirty face of the day.  Once in awhile, he actually gets embarrassed about it so I didn’t push him.  He was having too much fun.

And dinner?  Yumm!!!!!

429-1

At the rehearsal dinner we had a similar salad…I think it’s my new favorite.  All it is is spinach leaves, thinly sliced strawberries and red onion with raspberry vinagrette.  I am sitting here with the teeny bit of leftover, eating it out of the bowl.  We rarely have fried potatoes anymore, but since I can’t figure out the gas oven because the owner of the rv told me she had never figured it out, I just cook stovetop or microwave and I didn’t feel like nuked baked potatoes.  We’ve been buying Western Sizzler steaks occasionally and they are really good. Hubby bought a new tabletop bbq (about every 3 years we spring for a new one) and it is great.  He can even soak wood chips and put those in a little place just for that.

I heard on tv today that the movie 27 Dresses came out on dvd and I’m thinking I’d like to watch that this week.  We may head to town one of these days if I decide to get dressed.  This is a week of sweats only as far as I’m concerned.

And that’s my life today!  I just need to figure out if I want to read or knit right now.  :)

home to stay~back to reality

Posted by sherriknits

We got home this evening and vacation is pretty much over.  Tomorrow I have a lot of work to do but it’s ok, glad to have a job.  :)

We ended up going to visit my in-laws.  It was nice.  We drove down the freeway to the Oregon coast.  The first night we stopped to see my sister-in-law and I really regret not taking my camera in to get pictures of her 8 black kitties.  I tried to get one on my cell phone but it was too dark.  Had a great visit with her, but short.

We drove about half an hour from Portland and stayed in a rest area that night.  Of course, when we got up in the morning, the RV did not want to start.  It was getting worse and took about half an hour before anything happened.  While hubby was first starting to work on it, I made a not very pleasant discovery.  I had left my makeup home.

I called #2 daughter and she looked up to see who might have Bare Escentuals in the area.  We did find one shop but they were out what I needed so I decided to be brave and rough it.  haha  I was really amazed, though.  When we got to Grandma’s house, I called one salon that advertised that they sold makeup and asked if the had BE….she said no but when I told her my predicament, she was horrified, probably more than I was.  She made one suggestion of somewhere to call but I decided to just let it go.  A few minutes after I hung up, my cell phone rang and she had called me back to suggest somewhere else I might try.  Wow!  There are still people willing to go the extra mile out there in this world.  :)

We got to Grandma’s about noon.  First thing the little boy did was to haul the garbage can up the hill….hubby asked him if it was already dumped…yes, he said…got it to the top of the driveway to discover no, the garbage man hadn’t been there yet.  They had one small bag in their big can, not like ours which is always ready to overflow.

We could not believe the growth in the area….houses on every inch possible it seems.  I tried to get pictures of how quaint some of the changes are but it was getting dark and the pictures really didn’t show anything.  We go there fairly often, but don’t take the time to drive around.

I almost missed the sun, amazing how fast it goes down!

Just seconds earlier it was so incredible.  After our little cruise around, we stopped once more to take a look.

We drove down to the beach again the next evening, but the fog was coming in pretty quick.  Here’s a cold boy waiting for Dad to bring his sweatshirt from the Jeep.

This is my Saturday Sky picture…it was beautiful earlier in the day.

I don’t think I remember being at the coast like that and seeing so many nice days in a row.  The fog came in that one night but was gone in the morning.

We had a nice visit with the grandparents.  Hubby found the problem with the RV not starting and now it works every time.  I have always respected hubby’s ability to fix things, but this time he really had his fair share of challenges to figure out.  There’s only one minor thing left that he wants to trace down…the lighter thingy doesn’t have any power and he can’t find where the fuse is blown.  We even bought a new thing for him to hook up….and he kind of jerry-rigged it so I could turn on my laptop on the long drive home but no go….I blew a fuse and it took the turn signals and radio with it.  He gave me the most detailed explanation of why, but it was lost on me.

He always tries to fix everything he can when we borrow the rv.  Our friends appreciate getting it back with all the minor headaches taken care of and we are more than appreciative that they let us use it.

There aren’t many places along the coast to dump waste from your RV, but in Nehalam you can drive to the wastewater treatment plant.  I thought this box that had the envelopes to pay was interesting.

That’s algae growing all over the box, the spider webs don’t show.

We got to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.  Actually, we never get to actually drive by it because one sweet boy has radar whenever ice cream is around.  We did walk through and see if they were working, we’ve seen it many times but today they weren’t.

The place was jam packed with people but we did find a table.

Eating ice cream is serious business for this boy.  He and I are both pretty slow so we finished in the RV.

We stopped in Astoria to eat and the silly boy made himself at home.

I didn’t have time to open the screen window as we approached the Astoria bridge.

I actually did get some knitting accomplished.  I made another Tibetan sock.  This time I used size 2 needles instead of size 5 as we did in class…and I like it much better.  The fit was perfect.  I need to frog part of the cuff, though.  The RV was so bouncy on the coast road and I read the pattern wrong and knit about 12 extra rows…I couldn’t remember doing so many rows on the first one I made and I wish I’d have checked when I was wondering about it.  I love it, though.

I think these will be the perfect house socks this winter!  I hope I stay excited about them and get some made for the rest of the family.

I also worked on the Riverbed Architecture…am hoping to get a pair of toddler socks finished before some friends send a box off to Afghans for Afghans.

I tell you, Cat is a genius.  Each sock I make, it makes more sense and I am just amazed that she figured this all out.  It is so fun and I can’t wait to start experimenting on some of my own ideas.

Well, I have rambled on enough…it’s good to be home and good to be back in touch with the rest of the world.  It was a nice break, though, to not have internet access, I think I’d have spent a lot of time playing on Ravelry and every other little thing I end up doing…but I’m glad to be back!

Have a nice Labor Day…I’ll be working on catching up on bookkeeping.

we’re home :(

Posted by sherriknits

It was a fun time and we hated to come home.  I guess it’s best to come home when we feel that way rather than waiting for it to be time to get home!  One little boy started getting homesick yesterday.  It’s funny that he does that, but he does every year about the day before it’s time to come home.

We’re off!  This is his spot and I don’t even try to sit there.

We had an eventful time getting there.  The RV worked great until we were 5 minutes into the trip.  We had to stop by hubby’s workplace to get something, he left the engine running but when he jumped back in to start it…it would NOT go into gear.  We sat there for at least 30 min. and made several phone calls trying to find someone who might know what was wrong.  No help.  Finally it just jiggled in to place, something is loose in the ignition.

We drove an hour and stopped at Walmart to do our biggest shopping.  Then to the gas station….did it again, but hubby is on to it now and it didn’t hold us up.  We were maybe 10 min. down the freeway and he notices that as it gets dark we have no dash lights.  We pulled over and this is where I found my few min. of wireless connection, my last time for a week.  (yes, I survived!)  This time it was a fuse blown because some wires had accidentally shut in the Jeep door behind us.  It wasn’t too easy changing fuses under the dashboard in the dark.  Thankfully I’d found a flashlight in a drawer when we were moving in to the rv or who knows how we’d have fixed that one.  I don’t think my iPod or cell phone would have put off enough light…they are what I use for a flashlight.

We stayed our first night in a rest area.  After our nice breakfast, we discovered the battery was dead.  This used to happen frequently and hubby unhooked the Jeep, jumped it, and hooked up the Jeep again and away we went.

We stayed the whole week at Blu-Shastin RV Park .  We had one spot for 4 nights, then had to move to another spot for the last 3.  This spot was in the open but we had this nice little yard and we were one space away from the restrooms.

Before the kids started arriving, I got some serious knitting accomplished.  MS3 is finished!

And put to rest until I have time to block it….

I am so glad I did this and I really needed this challenge to kick me out of a difficult spot I had been in for way too long.  This project for me was way more than the knitting…it was all about persevering and pushing through obstacles and seeing it to the finish.  I always seem to be able to measure what is going on in my life to what I am working on creatively.  Knitting has been that thing for the last few years and I have learned a lot about myself through it.

I also made this from Cat’s new book.  I’d tell you the name of it, but all of my knitting is still in the Rv and it’s too late to go out there and get it.

I used Lorna’s Laces that I bought from Cashmere Cottage.  I also got some fun sock yarn from Wooly Bully in Leavenworth but haven’t taken a picture of it.

At Stitch n Pitch, I got this lace weight yarn and was really eager to get started on it, I don’t think the needles were cooled off from MS3 before I had this one out.  I’m farther along than this now, but don’t have any pictures.  The pattern is fun and easy.

When it came time to move to the other spot, we had to wait for the current tenants to move out so we could move.

Hubby was a bit anxious because he didn’t want someone to have to wait for us to move.  He tested the RV to make sure it would start and then turned it off and we waited. and waited.  Finally, they left and we all piled in.  (By now the oldest daughter and her hubby were with us.)  Click. Click. Click.  The battery again.  It would not start.  I finally went for a walk and prayed because it was getting so stressful and when I came back, it was running.  The little boy rode his bike over and most of us walked.

This spot had trees and grass leading to the creek.  Even though we had a little more space and it was shady, it felt like the neighbors were right there with us.  The water was fun, though.

Later this day, the other kids plus one showed up.  We had a tent set up in back and our oldest son and daughter’s boyfriend came in the first morning rather frozen.  We put blankets over the top of the tent and gave them extra for each of them and they did fine the next night.

We had birthday breakfast for our oldest daughter.

I think we’d have had it outside but the boys hadn’t warmed up yet.

We got her this for her desk at school….(it has her full name and these things are so cool!  She had one for her first years of teaching with her maiden name on it but needed a new one for her new job and new name!)

We all ventured to town and drove up the highway at various times.

Someone hates shopping

But he did enjoy getting a phone call…

We enjoyed our campfire

Do you see the blue ball?  The newlyweds got it for a gift…it’s an ice cream maker!  We filled the outer section with rock salt and ice and the inside with cream, sugar and vanilla.  Here the little boy gets a lesson on what we’re doing.

We tossed it around and around for 10-15 min.  It was fun but we got barely more than a bowl….wow!  It was so good!

I haven’t remembered to do Saturday Sky for a few weeks, but here was the end of the day Sat.  It was nice to get some clouds because the days were so hot the first part of the week.  I don’t do heat well and was kind of glad when it rained one evening for awhile.  (never thought I’d say that!)

Some of the kids left Sat. and some on Sun.  The 3 of us got to enjoy one more day.

This morning, we were loading up and I went out to help hubby take down the bug tent we got part way through the week because we couldn’t eat outside without entertaining bees.  We found a cheap one in Wenatchee and ate most of our meals outside from then on.  I had barely started helping take out the legs when I felt a sharp pain in the palm of my hand…. a BEE STUNG ME!  Youch.  It wasn’t terrible, but I did not get to knit on the way home today because it aggravated it.  grrrrr

I finished getting everything in place inside while the boys worked outside.

When we checked out, we asked about reserving the spot we had last year for next summer.  Can you believe this? Most of the camp was already booked up for next year.  People tend to like to get their regular spots and we did see several people moving through the week from one spot to another because like us, they got a few days here and a few days there around those who had pre-registered.  It’s a great place for big families and multiple spaces.  We saw many 3-5 spaces taken up by large groups.  We booked our favorite spot for 4 days next year and he told us the 2 open spots for the rest of the week.  We need to figure out which we will move to…kind of a bummer to move from the favorite spot later in the week…but we’re happy.  The only problem we had was one night from 12:30 am until 3 there was a LOUD party across from us.  They came in late, partied loud and in the morning there was a lone tent there and no activity.  The tent was there all day and by the next morning it was gone.  I have no idea what that was all about but it was weird.

I did get a lot more knitting accomplished this week, but forgot to take pictures.  I knit and re-knit two different yarns usimg Cat’s book.  I guess it was more of an educational venture than something that ended up being something.  I am not the least bit upset over knitting, frogging, tinking, re-knitting because I am really just trying to get the concept in my brain.  I wish I’d taken pictures of some of the progress but was just having too much fun.  Some of the attempts just didn’t suit the yarn or I hadn’t gotten the fit quite right.  It makes a little more sense each time I do it, though and it’s pretty exciting!  More on that to come!

I have lots of work to do tomorrow and then we’ll see what the rest of the week holds for us…
